Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name and email. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email and profile picture from them.
• Payment details: when you buy, Razorpay shares the email and phone number you entered, the amount, and the payment ID with us. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; Razorpay handles those.
• Learning activity: lessons you complete, quiz attempts and scores, and when you sign in and open course pages and lectures.
• Messages: anything you send to support@topengineer.dev.

• To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• To take payments, give you course access, handle refunds and keep the records Indian tax law requires.
• To save your progress and quiz results.
• To send account emails, such as confirming your email or resetting your password.
• To understand how the course is used, in aggregate, and improve it.
• To answer your support requests.

We don't send marketing emails without your consent, and we don't show ads.

We use a small number of trusted services, each only for its job:

• Supabase: our database and sign-in system. Your account, progress and payment records are stored on its servers in Mumbai, India.
• Razorpay: payment processing.
• Vercel: hosts the website and provides privacy-friendly, aggregate visitor statistics without cookies.
• Gumlet: hosts and streams the course videos, and records basic playback statistics.
• Resend: sends account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password reset.
• Google and GitHub: only if you choose to sign in with them.

Some of these services may process data outside India. They are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and our visitor statistics don't use cookies at all.

• Account and learning data: for as long as your account exists.
• Payment records: for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, even after an account is deleted.
• Activity logs: used in aggregate, and kept no longer than needed to run and improve the course.

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
• delete your account and personal data, except records we must keep by law;
• withdraw consent you've given, where we rely on consent.

Email support@topengineer.dev from your account's email address. We aim to reply within 7 days.

The course is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please use it only with a parent or guardian's consent.

Data is sent over encrypted connections, access to it is restricted, and passwords are handled by Supabase and never stored by us in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
